Hello, I'm new here. I'm intimidated by this board, there's so many good artists here! Anyways, here's a new pic I just finished; it was done in photoshop. Critique please!

G'day and welcome to the board. No need to be intimidated as there are artists from those just starting right through to professionals. I think though most people who visit the forum and are open to crit's progress pretty quickly thought.
As for some comments, I like the image but I think the black pencil/ink lines need to be toned down alot. Use colour to create definition unless you are going for that comic look. Try to merge the colors a little more. While I like what you are trying to do with the 'strips' in the colours, it needs to be worked a little as at the moment it just isn't 100% agreeing with my eye.

hi and welcome
his hand is too big and I
think his arm is in a strange position
(think it's anatomicaly correct but it looks a bit unnatural or even broken..)
like the shadings on the jacket

This is an interesting style - I think the scratchiness of the line art would work well without the colors, but adding the colors to the scratchy lines kind of makes them compete. Might be a little more effective if the line art is really clean and tight and the color applied with strokes like you have it. Just a thought, please post more soon.

Thanks for the comments ^_^
Matt- I see what you mean. I have always drawn anime style, so I guess I'm having difficulty moving away from the bold outlines =P This was my first attempt at painting like that, my usual style is waay different.
Silber- I noticed that about the arm too. After drawing it, I had to try and do it myself to see if that was even possible, and it was, just VERY unnatural. I didn't really have it in me to fix it though (I drew it around 3 am) so I just left it.
BurnOut- That game is alright, but Kyo is THE MAN.
Thanks for tips guys, they were very helpful
EDIT: Oops, sorry Francis, looks like you posted while I was posting. :P Thanks, next time I'll try for a cleaner look ^_^
