i'm hoping someone posts a ridiculously long list of songs for no apparent reason when a mere mentioning of a genre or band or two is good enough.

anything with angelic voices usually gets me into the mood. or something with some cool atmosphere. but trance doesn't do it, or any other form of techno. i would have to say a lot of cool industrial music is the prime motivator for drawing. with me of course.

To be quite honest, I am not an artist, but I do consider writing an art form in itself.
While doing so, I don't usually listen to music while in the process of writing...sometimes some classical.
But, beforehand I do listen to some bands such as Noise Unit(side project of FLA) and Evil's Toy.
Sometimes some mellow trance as well.
If not that, I occasionaly meditate before I begin my writing, or start mixing some tracks of my own. |

bill leep has so much creativity it is sickening. and so does daniel myer, thankfully haujobb is going back to there original style. and not that slow german beat shit. ex. ninetynine, wtf. oh well my personal taste. solutions for a small planet remains the best.

less is the greatest haujobb / lightweight electro track ever, i'm right in that and there is nothing you can say that will change the fact that less is the greatest haujobb and lightweightelectro track ever, amen.
it's leeb, not leep.

Well a few months ago I mostly went for soundtracks. But not anymore these days.
Most of the time now I go for Electronica / Ambient Electronica stuff. Like Autechre.
Oh yeah any Autechre fans want to fill me in on some similar music ? The stuff's not exactly popular here so it's hard to find someone who can recommend good stuff.

i've been venturing further and further away from electronic as of late, but boards of canada, orb's u.f.orb -disc are still as lovely as ever.

music i generally listen to while drawing? ... mostly anything ... but some of my favorites are like..
tool, primus, aphex twin, squarepusher, korn (their very first album), alice in chains, etc... music to that genre.. generally not rap or hiphop even though i do like that style of music too... guess it depends on my mood.

What's kind a lame is that the new Russian national anthem features the same music with a new (lame) text. Sux.
I wish we still had the anthem from German Democratic Republic. That was kinda cute.

I listen to really hard core drum banging screaming music while doing gfx. I don't know why, just find it inspiring or something.
Examples: RATM, Korn, Guano Apes(i love that name), etc...

RATM is good when they're not cheerleaders for the Teamsters.
Yet another music post and STILL no one mentions Primus.
*sighsighsigh*
I listen to any rock that's not superpop mediocrity (KoRn, Limp Bizkit, RATM, Metallica, etc.).
Classical rocks. (Zach likes Bach)
*Some* skilled rap rocks. (Mos Def, etc.)
FunkFolk rocks. (Beck)
Electronic. (NIN)
Art Rock. (Primus)
Industrial (KMFDM)
D'oh. The list goes on forever.
faustgfx: You assumedly enjoy A Perfect Circle, yet you show an undying hatred for TooL? Awesome how much a quick instrumentor change can . .. blah. lost my train of thought.
