Please, don't recline in horror, I know I would if this painting wasn't mine. Yes, this is my first "real" photoshop painting, and it is quite a leap of courage for me to post something this bad in a forum of people this talented.
I've done 3d work less horrid than this, (if you remember at all) but your critique is greatly appreciated. |

If abstraction is what you are looking for it is going to be very hard to critique this painting. The question is, does the painting portray the emotion and values you want it to? I would also ask if you used filters on the piece? |

Word up, Transcendant. That is a leap of courage, although I think that is a bit of a mixed metaphor...
Heh heh. Just kidding.... Or am I?

Well, I see a man's head. Looks like you'll be heading somwhre if this is what your work looks like when you're just getting started. Although I assume you've done this stuff before with different media?

Hi All,
I'm quite glad affected noticed the head This picture was orginally entitled "I am the darkness" (go figure), but I'd thought I cut it short, this pic's by no means my masterpiece.
MonsterX : No, no filters. Just photoshop. I used some layers to get the skin texture right.
A.Buttle : I believe it's "it has been quite a leap of courage", I could be wrong, though.
Affected : If you consider 3d a medium, yes, if you don't, this is my first painting in a long long time.
Hurri-cane : An applaud ? Hmmm, that was unexpected. Looking foward to seeing yours abstract.
And, to all,
Boo.
Don't ask why. |

I think the proper clich is "leap of faith". Substituing faith for courage makes it only a bit of a mixed metaphor because I have no idea where courage came from... phrase-wise that is...
