I was just wondering who moderates these boards? Daily I see the most stupid irrelivant posts. (like the declare war on some other board one...) Why is this stuff not being deleted and the users warned and or banned?

This is an amazingly valuable forum. Please keep it clean and focused.

Thanks,

- Jeramy

There are none. Dhabih likes it that way.

Well the only official moderator is Dhabih himself. However, being in a large part frequented by professionals and mature artists alike (excluding synj of course) we tend to sort of moderate ourselves. Completely silly posts either drop off the list within a day or are made so hilariously interesting that they stay around for a few days. There are no major problems, except perhaps for off-topic posts such as this one that belong in the Random Musings forum

If you see a stupid or inflamitory post you can choose to simply ignore it and, unlike a case of herpes, it will eventually go away.

I am getting really sick of all the spam going on here. we need some new frikken topics and a few moderators. it's too hectic right now. an' it's just going to get worse.
I don't like the idea but something has to be done.
soon I'm just going to scan the place for all the cool artists or big threads. no more looking at everyhting and giving crits. It's too time consuming atm. I spend more time pissing around on here than I do on actuial art.

Is that a new art medium Rin? "Actuial"? Hehe.. I'm in a "bump the useless topic to the top" mood today.

I call that creative chaos ....
but being seriously; it would be much more helpfull for all participants to avoid a "floodfill".
I am here for a week and posted two artworks I hoped to get some crits to learn sth new and to get inspired, but the threads or posts didn't last long enough on top to draw any or only few attention ...(maybe the works were bullshit though - who knows ).

I think that's the usual destiny of newbie threads here, so maybe the demand for some degree of discipline is not the badest idea....

just a thought....

Well, there's a bunch of numbers on the main page. I just click on "2" which takes me back to page 2. It's not that much trouble IMO. It definitely beats deleting new posts. Let's not adopt the "I got mine" attitude when it comes to newbies. We were all newbies at one point.

I don't think we need moderators besides Dhab. When he needs to take action, he does what he needs to do and that's that. But I don't think we need a bunch of people patrolling the forums and deleting everything they don't like. Like Napalm said, we kind of moderate ourselves, and when someone is out of line, there are always a few people to attack them and make fun of them. It's great. As a matter of fact, I think I'll make fun of Chapel right now.

You suck, Chapel.

See, it's all good.
