This is a sketch I got inspiration for after keeping a keen eye on Vortx's post. I tried to have fun with the outfit and try to create something medieval/futuristic, a kinda galaxy far far away theme. I plan to spend a bit of time on it in Photoshop so I was hoping for a few comments before I waste a week on a crap picture.
Should I start again???

OK, a couple things. I dig the style you've got going, but there are several things you probably want to fix before you start in.
The pose is odd, as if she's about to jump into the pool or something. I'd straighten out the legs if you're looking for a tough/defiant/bad ass pose.
The arms are a bit off, they're quite thin and short. With arms extended, the crook (elbow) should be at the same level as the belly button, and the hands should be about midway between hip and knee. Speaking of the hands, they're HUGE! Just a thought.
Lastly, her shirt is tight and yet wrinkly, which doesn't really make sense. Cloth usually is either loose with folds, or tight with a few clean lines. It really depends on the fabric, but what you've done kinda makes her look wrinkly and not the fabric. The same goes with the gloves: if their that thin and yet that baggy, then her forearms must REALLY be tiny.
Other than that, I really like the style of this piece and the armor and weaponry. I hope I didn't come off too critical, I think this is great.

Alright, I'm on it. Good suggestions about the legs, I wasn't happy with them, I just wanted someone to say they suck so I could get off my arse and change them.
The idea with the hands was she was supposed to be wearing thick metal like gloves.
Thanks heaps for the ideas I'll post an update in a bit.

I really dig her sword and her Knee pads and boots.
Check out her cranium. This seems to be a major problem with a lot of the people posting so I thought I'd address it.
You should draw in where her brain is supposed to fit, follow the lines you've made on her forehead and at the back of her neck.
One more item. How is the hip armor attatched, it looks like she's standing in them rather than wearing them.
I really like what you did with the details though. It looks like she's got energy coursing through her, Really cool.

Thanks dude, yeah, I don't suppose the brain would fit anywhere, maybe she doesn't have one, ha ha.
I've fixed up the leg thing mentioned earlier, I basically straightened out the right leg which evens out the left one. The scan came out on a slight angle also I just noticed, so it kinda makes her look like she's unbalanced.
The leg armour is connected to those inner pieces that you can see hugging her hips and they are connected to the leather strap around her waist. Those two pieces are bolted together at her back.
Well, that's the idea anyway

This is a more heroic stance, more like what sac was saying.
Note the skull. :-) haha. Oh well.

I noticed the legs when I first saw the picture. I think you should either
A)wrap that metal around her thighs, all the way around. With some more perspective, right now they look to flat to be wraping around her thighs. Some shading would prolly do the trick if you don't wana re-draw. But they are a bit thin for how big her waste area looks up top.
Or B)Draw some thigh(Skin thighs) behind the layers of that metal armor. So it would look like a armor on top of her thighs...
Defniately what sacrelicious was saying about the fabric. If she is to be a fast moving sword fighter. She won't be waring loose clothing by her arms. That would be a hastle for her. Generally speaking of course, is up to you.
Other than that, keep it up. I'd like to see what you do with a background. She apears to be floating with the way her hair and arm band are looking. Just guessing though :)

Great pose Skeez, she looks like a very brainy chic ha ha.
I'll post that new version with the fixed leg, gloves, forehead, arms ... on second thoughts, I think I might just start again. Thanks for the tips everyone.

Thanks again for the help guys.
Here's an updated version with the changes. Hope you like
Also, if anyone wanted to give it a shot at colouring I'd love to see what you could do with it.
Cheers,

Have you tried using geocities, they're really good. And I've had no troubles linking pictures through them.

Thanks for the poses guys, I'll do up some sketches with them later.
Here's a colour version I've done, the intention was to play around with colours and shadows and stuff but I ended up taking it a bit further than I meant to. What do you guys think ???
