Hi all. Been lurking on the board for a while, and got inspired to start doing some digital painting. I haven't done much, but am not new to the art field. I've been drawing for a long time and have done some oil painting, plus a lot of mouse-based computer graphics (web design stuff).

Anyway, here's a painting I just did. Critiques welcome (do your worst). ~2.5 hours, Photoshop, Wacom tablet, from a picture (took it myself). It could still use a little tweaking, but I have a bad habit of moving on to other things before I finish what I started :-)

Planning on doing one from a mirror next.

Nice man, you captured some feeling in ther - emptyness. I like the pick, expecially aroudn the nose and lips, the part i could never get right!

not bad at all...actually very nice color variation.

Welcome!
Very nice, the clours and proportions looks right. The right ear looks too soft and blurry i think and the left eye is bigger than the other, but besides from that it looks damn good!

welcome justin. You sure need to dig in this forum, if you not going to miss out of some of the good work that is being posted.
Great image. Lovely colors, looks very much like a oil painting from the older days

Like micke pointed out, the ears looks a bit strange. They left eye may be a bit too big compared to the right, but personally that don't bother me. Love to see more of your work!

jHof - Ray Parks?? Can't say I've ever noticed any similarity

thanks to others for the crits. I'll correct the wierd eye and ear. I also just noticed the right side of the mouth is a bit off.
