I am in need of desprate help.. As you all know in the past I posted a message of a gorilla out of clay.. and got some great feedback.. and I got perfect on it in class so thanks.
But I come here in a more desprate help this time. I am in the middle of creating a women figure out of clay, using a refrence out of the good old MAXIM Magazine. But it does not seem to be going as planned. I ask you for help becuase I am still not very comfortable with the anatomy of a human figure.
Here are the pictures.. please feel free to modify them in any way shape or form.. to help me out. Thank You again.. for the oppertunity.
Here are the pictures of the current clay work:

I would suggest looking at how close her chin apears to be to her left sholder. On your clay figure, your left sholder is really drooping down. Take a closer look at the pictures postioning of her left hand. Your clay model has the hand down lower than the picture, due to not having the sholder raised up.
Thas about all I could tell at the moment. Hope that helps any.

I just got done taking an anatomy sculpture class from a great instructor. This was my first time sculpting. I took the
class to improve my drawing skills. I am no expert but I can forward some of the useful information he gave me.
1. For reference try and find or take a photo from all angles. Get a skeletal and muscle reference also.
2. Build a wire frame for the spine, arm and legs
2. Build up a clay spinal column, make sure it's curved with the weight of the figure.
2. Block in the major shapes Head, ribs and hips.
3. Block in the major muscles.
4. Then start adding the external features
like the chest.
Hope this helps a little.

hmm. brngs back memories of my Sculpey days..
Her breasts need to be lower, smaller and rounder. arms a wee bit thicker.. i think part of that problem is that her shoulders are also too broad for a female. the cranium should be bigger, and think of the head as a ball and a wedge (cranium and face/jaw area). Other than that, her legs look very good, you have a good eye for this stuff. but look at the waist/rib cage area as two seperate parts.. kinda like this:
i got this from the book 'Drawing the Head and Figure by Jack Hamm. good book, lotsa sketches for the *cough*visual*cough* type
keep up the good work!
