What is it you are asking exactly? Are you looking for a colorist to color an ad that you are making? Or are you looking for a rate for comparison to a job you have been offered? "Spawn" is a comic not a coloring style. If any "style" is associated with Spawn it would be the pencils.. not the colors, and the penciler most famous for Spawn is Todd McFarlane. http://www.go-liquid.com is a professional coloring company. If your just looking for any colorist though I would be interested. Especially since I'm in Orlando too.

Chapel: Yeah, I'm very familiar with the work of McFarlane. I say "Spawn style" because that's a good way of communicating to clients. I'm actually looking for rates and a colorist for a magazine ad that someone called me about. I've simply never attempted comic book coloring, so I don't want to touch it. The style is meant to look like a comic book, so I defer to the best stereotype I can think of, which is Image's coloring, including Spawn.
I need a rate, just so I can approximate the cost to the client. It's one page, but it's a national ad, so I expect the rates to vary from regular rates. If you're interested in the work, then please send me a link with a few specific examples of this kind of thing. Thanks for the link; their stuff looks great. |

Hello.
Are there any colorists in here who can give me the rates for a one-page national ad? The ad is to be comicbook style; I've heard the word "Spawn" mentioned as a reference to style. Also, any pro colorists in here looking to do some work like this?
Sorry to be asking about this stuff here, Dhabih. Let me know it's bad, and I'll stop. |

Hey alias..I think I read somewhere that magazines ads like that go for like 2000.00 for drawing and coloring..but in depends on the artist I am sure..I would get Liqued to do it he is the best by far in comic coloring. |

Thanks, everyone. I keep hearing about Liquid and have seen his outstanding work in the forum. Liquid, you out there?
Chapel. Those images look fine. It's tough, because the client is very large and they tend to be very elitist. Don't ask me why I'm involved with this I'll let you know if this goes anywhere. Thanks for your interest and your links. |

Thanks Alias. I'm not very good, but I'm learning. I'm a sucker for publicity though, so I'd be interested if they thought I was capable. The guys at GrafikSismik are not quite at the pro level of Liquid!, so they might be easier to get in touch with. Darren Moore on there is real good IMHO. |
