Well, this place is really annoying (in terms of trying to get away from it ). Anyway, this is my current project in the works for surrealism...14x20 recycled brown paper...mmmm....
Done with color pencils...lots and lots o' pressure mind you. Sorry I couldn't fit in the majority of the picture (fairly small scanner). The lighting in the entire scene is pretty much off, although the one thing I am happy with is the front of truck. No reference was used...just wanted some opinions on how it looks thus far. (and yes, those are ears growing on tree stumps, and a nose in the truck). The large area above the truck will be a mountain in the shape of a nose....
(Rip it to shreds )
Later,

I hear staying away from the forum too long is bad for you
hehhum, well you got the surrealism part quite alright
tip, make it even more surrealistic..like add flying nutsacks in the sky *AAccough*

it's a bit confusing perspective-wise to have the roof of the truck on the horizon line that way..
otherwise looks like fun :)

heh alright..real crit you said..
well, as eetu pointed out, the perspective is wrong on the back of the truck.
Also it looks like the whole landscape is tilted left. otherwise quite good, and with pencils as well..satans choice of medium..

Hmmm...yeah, thanks Binke and eetu. I think it may be tilting to the left because of the way I set it on the scanner (not perfectly perpendicular ). I agree with the perspective and horizon line however. I should have planned out the composition and perspective better. Maybe make it less of a wide view in the foreground....doing another perspective right now for a litho cut.
Mmmm. ^ very early (kicks self in head). Ah well, the key to becoming better is to screw up thousands of times.
Anyone else?
