Keep in mind this is coming from a 3D head and newbie to these types of paintings, but the only thing I can see that could be fixed would be the spines across the back. They appear very flat next to the good depth of the rest of the work. I really like it. Nice painting indeed.
Keep em comin!

Looks good, I feel like I could reach out and touch it! And probably get eaten or otherwise dismembered. The one thing that bothers me is the tongue. For it to come out the side of the mouth where it does it would either have to be incredibly twisted inside the mouth, or the root of the tongue would have to be just inside the mouth at that spot. Since the lips seem to continue back I assume there's more tongue, they usually start where the mouth ends and the throat begins. It's a minor thing, even though I just wrote a short story about it. Really, though, it looks great! Well, enough from me. Later.

Thanks. The background is actually a blurred out shot from the game we are working on. Since this creature will be appearing in a few different places we need to give it a generic background. The actual painting is the Dragon itself. I only got 60 or so creatures left to to create. As I improve on my technique it makes me want to go back and revamp all my older images.

Is it just me? I really think the eye is in a weird place i mean it seems to be comming out of the spike thingy in the head. That ofcourse COULD be possible but i feel the head should be bigger so the eye would have enough room. Like make the head a bit thicker at the eye spot and rising the horn more upwards also giving it a more frightening look. And after this speech you can all go to the table in the back and have milk and cookies.

Nice man. Hmm in my opinion, dragons don't usually have long thin spikes, but sea creatures do! You should call it The Red Sea Monster or sumthing, it would fit the pic better, but thats jusat my opinion

Never noticed it in the sketch but after painting it I did. Oh well maybe it's slightly deformed.

I got one drawn up but its so big I am going to have to scan it in segments then piece it together. Still use pencil and paper to sketch as I only have a mouse.

I dont agree with the comment that the spins are flat. If you look closely they work very well with the background lighting. The only thing I see wrong here is that the dragons head is contrasted against the very dark underside of his neck and that is what makes the eyes look like they are in a funny place. You might want to do some color blending and not use blacks for your shadows...

If the dragon would be called a sea serpent it should be colored in green or blue but certainly not red since it is commonly realted to fire.
