If you hadn't told me i wouldn't have guessed it.
You need some Giger'ish designs/forms going on to really give it away.
Looks good though |

Lukias got it right-on:
This is good, and it says 'futuristic' and 'high tech' but you're passing up an opportunity to make some crazy convoluted Giger-nightmare biomechanical interface.
It's not too cluttered, maybe a little too colorful if anything. When I think of the Alien movies I think violence and the Alien grey/blacks, and the blues of the planet. (Alien resurection turned a bit green).

thanks for the crits..
i'll try incoporate the giger style..
i have tried on paper to get a giger look, but he's quite hard to imitate.. plus i'm having to mouse draw everything.. and that makes it even more difficult
but yes i do agree some giger is a must for this design.. |

I understand what you're going for and for me to make it look like the tech in aliens the text on the left should be green or white. I seem to recall all the screens in the movie displaying either black and green or Black and white.
To incorporate the Giger stuff all you really have to do is use sorta a biomechanical wall for the main display portion. I like the Acid burns you've got there now but a nice Alien Nest looking wall might be just as good if not better.
That's my bits.

i agree, it looks cool already, but too colorful.
everything on the movie had a 'limited colorscpace' for lack of a better word.. and low saturation.
btw is that genericpanels i see on the monitor ? <grin>

Idea:
The alien influence on the suroundings in the moveis are of a "fusion" of organics and machine..even the alien is based upon machine constructions (have a close look). What if you made a tiling alien "nest". Just lots of alien shapes, and in smack middel of this you have your current design, emerging out from the alien goo and fused bodyparts.
What this would do:
You would get away from the very very very very very very boring "navigation to the left, heading on the top and a thingamajig in the upper left corner. You would get a web site that is senterd on the site, and no matter WHAT resolution your user is running, you would have controll of the look. If they are running 1600 x 1200 and maximize theire browsers, they would only get to see more of the alien nest tiling. You would lock the centerpart. This gives you 100% controll of your layout, text, images, tables..what ever.
anyhow..an idea about how to make a good webdesign, and incorporate the alien goo.

i'd say less different colors, more green.
and maybe add some acid burns on the monitor and other places. / make it look more worn |
