i made this ship when i first began 3d modeling using truespace before i got lightwave.....any comments would be appreciated!!! |

The ship looks pretty cool but the shading (texture) could use alittle more work. Let me just add that if your only trying to get into modeling then disregard the last comment. The model itself looks pretty clean though. Are you using the three light system or just two because its hard to tell from the stills that you've provided. I would suggest giving your rim or reflective light some color to give your ship some more visual interest along with your key light. the color you give to your fill light will be dependent on you key.

lose the ambient.
you got a machine to do cast shadows for you, use it :)
perhaps some specular could spice it up too.
light in space is harsh.

i think it looks cool when an object casts shadows upon itself...but if you were just doing a rendering to show the model then maybe you did the right thing... |
