Hi all... was lurking on the forum for a while and finally decided to post some of my own stuff. I'm more into the 3d side of things (but drawing more now though ), hopefully noone will mind that heh. Hope to get some critique/feedback/general blah, I think this is the only place where people judge the actual work and not sw/hw etc...
After reading the posts, and looking at some great stuff I've even started doodling in PS, thanks to all of ya... Here're the pics
--snip--
I'm getting the xoom logo so just check out the web page, the character stuff is at the bottom... look around the whole thing if get a sec http://members.nbci.com/lwheechee/

Seems that the pics aren't showing up
Though if you drag the image onto the address
bar it seems to work. If people have problems viewing them please let me know.

Those images look spiffy. I'm assuming it's part of an animation?
The first set look pretty photorealistic. You did a good job simulating the effects of atmosphere on a rocket that's really far away (I assume that's what that's supposed to be - like nasa footage of a rocket launch?) The deployment sequence looks pretty good too. But the third set, the launch pics.... the smoke plugin you used isn't too convincing. I don't know what it is exactly, the general shape of the smoke is pretty good, but the little details don't look quite right. Otherwise it's a pretty convincing scene. |

yeah the landscape stuff is from work... thanks for the comments on photorealism.
Yes, the rocket, deployment are stills from
the actual animation. The smoke is something I'm still working on, in the actual animation it holds up even less
Reproducing mother nature can be a tad hard
at times
