Ok, firstly, im new to this so if i've screwed up, and the pic dosn't work or something sorry...

The reason i've posted this is because i wanted to get the opinions of a few people who KNOW what there talking about.. (or just anyone who has an opinion for that matter)

I've been working on this image, on and off for a while now but with a mouse.. its kinda slow going. Its a picture of a female worrior, DiabloII style i guess.

If anyone has any tips, pointers, critisisum or techniques i could use, i'd love to hear about them...

The image was made in PhotoShop 5.5 - and here it is! =]

Cheers...

It's looking pretty good so far. The first thing I would look at first, though, is the anatomy. Her eyes don't quite match each other, and they're slightly out of alignment with her nose and mouth (her facial features seem to stretch upwards on the left side of her face.) The upper part of her head seems to have the same problem. Hmm. Now that I think about it, her entire body has that problem. You might want to try flipping your image horizontally - you'll be able to see this better if you do. (I've had the same problem on pictures in the past, but I was so used to looking at them, that I couldn't tell what was wrong!)

Beyond that... I really like the bow, but you could stand to sharpen up the edges a little bit. Also, the texture effects on the armor don't look quite right... they stand out because they don't match the style of the rest of the drawing. But keep up the good work. I'd be interested to see the next revision.

Welcome to the forum and your image looks nice although a little too 3D looking for my liking. While it is good to play with shadows, I think you've used then a little too much and it is hard to make out some of the character. The characters right arm also looks funny as I can't see a bicep and I'm not sure what is coming out of her arm. The texture on her clothing on her breasts also just looks like an applied filter.

I do like the shoulder pads and the hand/glove holding the bow. Maybe try to ease up a little on the dodge and burn as the image is coming out a little too 'dark' and 'burnt'. Nice work thought.

Thanks for the reply guys.. thats helped out alot. I should have said that her shirt was done at the last minute, and yes, its just a crappy filter, but i needed something their for the time being, it will be changed. to look more like her sleve - more free-flowing.

As for the real dark shadows, i intend to have her standing in (or around) a fire.. sorounded by dead 'things'.. so i wanted one side to be heavily 'lit-up' and the other almost black...

Thanks again for the help guys, i'll post an up-dated version soon =]
