I like this image boomer, I don't think there's anything bad about it at all... Colors are very strong, could be nice with the colors a bit more blended/less saturated too. But, I always like when someone dare to do strong colors.
keep up the good work.

Hey Boom.
Yeah, I pretty much agree with Joachim. The figure is quite nice and the shading is good, simply the colors don't do it for me, as they are too saturated.
It looks very nice, serious. |

Nice work man I also like the color symbolism..!
"Violet is the colour of kings and priests and holds much power.
Purple is the ray of creativity and has the ability to imbue works of art with the power to heal and transform.
Leonardo da Vinci advocated using the power of the violet ray in meditation to link with the heavenly world.
Wagner used this colour in his home decor, especially when he was composing music."
Well it really suits the mood I'd say! is it a king?
Indeed nothing bad about it!

Hmm, I'm getting the impression that the brushstrokes are creatign JPEG compression artifacting... you know, that blockiness.
It also looks like you used Sharpen More and pressed Ctrl-F 2 more times. But hey, I guess that's just a result of using Painter style brushes. It does seem different from the Photoshop style that in that regard. Heck with Photoshop, I see a lot of round brush strokes ending in circles :P
Other than that minor thingy, I gotta say this figure is nicely proportioned and very volumetric.
If you can find a way to make those brushstokes less mechanical looking, you'll have something very neat!
Q: Did you use tablet with pressure sensitivity for this image? |

Joachim - strong colors indeed. Usually I'm more a monochome kinda guy. But I just went overboard in this one. Glad you like it though.
Frost - You're back! Well. As you maybe know by now I'm not too happy about the colors myself... btw. give painter a try. I know you'll get a kick out of it!
JeePee - I knew that Somebody knows his arthistory, eh? Glad you like it. I kinda saw this character as a priest or wizard...
Sergenth - Youre right. The jpg format is messing up the brushstokes. no sharpen, just the camelhair brushes in Painter. Yes I did indeed use a tablet for this one...

Others have said it but I like the strong colours and the way you've used the brighter more vibrant colours with the moody purple and red. Nice piece. |
