Just been working on this image today and would be interested in any comments people might have on the colouring efforts so far.
Thanks

Can't say much on color, I would recomend filling in the rest of her head, even if it's just one line. I know your probably gonna come in with hair later, but its best to start from a good base.
Do know what I mean by filling in her skull? |

Hey Matt.
I've been watching this one progress, it's cool to see the way you work.
I like the shading on the folds, but it looks kind of like a really thick satin. I don't know if this was the look you were going for. What kind of material is it? I might be able to share some of my meager experience.
Also her upper lip is very thin. I mean it has no thickness pressed up against the teeth, maybe give it a little fat and curl it. Try to look in the mirror from the side, or better yet ask someone to smile from a profile.
Oh, man, I didn't mean to critique this much, but here's a little more. Her teeth are at an angle pointing back into her mouth, unless she's a decendent of T-Rex her teeth should point down.
What exactly are you going for,
A portrait
A character
A beautiful woman?
Very nice rendering of values on the face though. See I had to finish up with a compliment so you wouldn't think I hated it, Which I don't, actually I like it, okay, I think I need to shut-up now, Okay.

That right breast is trying to attack me. I know it! Hee hee
Don't be afraid to use some darks on her, maybe in that area of her arm pit. COuld possibly use some black? If you do, be sure to even it out threw out the folds though.
Her neck has something missing... Trying to figure out what. Umm... I think maybe some dark skin tones around where the neck of the shirt would help. Something else, but my eye can't figure it out. Maybe you already know...
Definately some good skin tones, I agree with Skeezy on that. I bet shes a blond!
Maybe Mr. Stones will see your post and help out a few.
Wooo! time to go home! I've said it before and I'll say it again. Drunk people with computers calling up for tech support should be arrested.
Yoink?

OK, done some more work on this image and starting to get nearer to the finish line.
Thanks for your comments:
1) Isric - I think I know what you mean by filling in the skull. Anyhow there is hair now so hopefully I have enough skull
2) Skeezer - that's cool that you've been watching this one progress. I wasn't going for any particular material. I knew the character was going to be in the rain so I wanted to get a 'soaked' feel (think I failed on that account). Initially I did the shirt, was getting frustrated straigh painting so I dodged and burned a section. Worked so well I did it to the whole image and then repainted back over it with the paint brush.
Everyone has commented on the top lip but my friend, who I had as one of 9 source photos, has a lip like that which I really like. I'm not trying to go for your 'standard' beautiful women but the kind that lives next door. The teeth are something I'm going to play around in the next revision.
Thanks for all your crits
3) jHof - I've been scared of shadows on this one as the skin tones seemed to be working. I had all sorts of trouble with the arm pit area (I think it shows to) so if you want to do an overlay with suggestions, it would be muchly appreciated. What about the neck now? Probably the main thing it needs is a shadow. I haven't put in a shadow for the hair but it is coming.
Sorry to disappoint but she is a red hed. Initially was going to have black hair but I have a layer floating around and accidentaly changed it to multiply, saw the red effect and that was the end of it.
My computer is broken. I can't see the monitor... could a blackout have anything to do with it.
