I had managed to be happy observing for quite a while but that Spooge one really inpired me. Although my rendition has ended up looking more like a Vebs rippoff.
I'm basically guessing brightness here, I hope that doesn't look too bright (it's practically white on my monitor), but if it does look a bit bright then you can try this one;

For those just joining us, the (excellent) sketch comes from the ever-reliable hand of VortX in this thread;

Way cool. The one in the link looks a bit better, but not that much darker. the one you posted is fine.
It's a bit small tho. can you give us a bigger ver. there's lot's of nice detail that seems to be getting lost. |

I really hate posting big versions because it's makes it very apparent how roughly and quickly it was drawn.
Oh well.

looks very nice suma.
Just one small thing I think that could improve the picture quite much, is to make her feets more visible. But, very nice coloring indeed. Wet skin, I like that

Very nice, Sumaleth. Yeah, the wet look looks great.
The thing in the BG looks like a potato. |

I love it. Nice lighting and contrast. Looks very life like. The only thing that I would change is the swords apears to be weightless but I know that'ss part of the original drawing. |

This is cool stuff dude! I prefer the second version's intensity. Very nicely done.
I agree with Joachim's comment on the lower legs and feet. They fall away into the background. A bit of subtle rim lighting would do the trick..
Big version?!? Come on Row, post a 100%!! People love to see those brushstrokes..

Ahh, what the heck. Here she is in all her blurry, pixelated glory;
Full size. That's it. No more bigger versions to post.

Thanks for the comments!
The recurring boot-highlighting suggestion is interesting since one of the few aims I started off with was to actually have the feet fade completely into the ground ala Boris style! Oh well, I guess I won't do that next time.

Personally, I like how the feet fade into the floor. It's almost like it extends her height and gives her this huge supply of power and dominance. But maybe I'm reading too much into it! |

where are the cools in her flesh?
nice rendering...but she looks sunburned or made out of clay.
dont be afraid to move your colors around the piece...see monet paintings to see how he puts colors bouncing off the environement and into the forms
move your color around for unity too...then hit the brightness in the focal areas...

Very nice Suma! I really like the tones and color. Maybe the highlights on her skin are just too bright... almost reflective... however the light source is above, and the some surfaces don't reflect there.. but, you knew that, so. not much more to comment on. =) |

Jason;
I did actually run a light 'wash' of purple in the shadowed areas, and also splashed some purple/blue/green reflections around the skin. Not strong enough? It's hard to know how much of that sort of thing to include because at some point it starts looking like mould and fungas.
Frost;
The highlights were actually a bit of an experiment. It's not realistic but I liked the look it gave.

Once again I find myself saying "Oh Wow!!" on this forum. Loved the colouring job and I'm not fussed either way about fading or not fading the feet into the floor. The tones look great and you've really brought out a mean demeanour well.

Hey man that looks good. I like how you got the oil painting look with the background. Then highlight might be a little to intense but over all I would say it kicks a$$ |
