Hey, I lost where the thread went.. (Sorry!) But someone had posted a pic of a girl, and gave the line art for others to try. This is what I came up with.

Comments?

I take it that's bad... Perhaps I should have just gone with my original background of solid black.

heh well yea i recommend black over that one

another thing (sorry for just critisizing),
you seem to have some antialiasing problems there.. i guess you've selected areas from the drawing with the magic wand and then filled them - there are some gray pixels there that weren't selected and show between the fill and the line.
i suggest either using a larger tolerance, or painting on a layer under the drawing and having the drawing on top as multiplicative.

Thanks Yeah, I tried doing that, but I couldn't get rid of the whites and grays right.

eetu: what means "multiplicative"? can i do something with layers in photoshop that makes them something like "multiplicative"? (maybe a really silly question, i know... )

you have a greyscale image. go into the channels palette Ctr+click the channel. you have just selected the white. invert the selection you have selected the lines. make a new layer. select that layer with the selection still active. fill the selection with 100% black. paint on a layer underneath your new layer.
