Thanks for the comments :d I think personally my favorite is the right one. I drew the left one first and yes it is BC and FF7 inspired. Plus I like big blades.
Personally I do not think that it would be too heavy.. And hell.. If it is. Just use two hands.. The hilt looks big enough
Man? Uhm.. When did I have a sex change? And why was I not informed that this had happened?
Fearfaction: Generally only females are called 'Jenn'.

Righto, A few small changes.. Francis suggested "you can use the same pen - just draw your first line, and then the second line just off it a little, so that your final line is thicker than when you draw just one line " This is the image he gave me to go with that comment.
I tried this out for my self and came up with;
Another small change I made was to move the characters from being small to somewhere larger..

Those symbols look great!
This is just personal preference, but I think it might look even better if you let the symbols run the entire length of the blade. (Can't have too much of a good thing)
Personally, I prefer the sword on the left. I've always liked it when things look crude and worn with use. |

Aiee beat me to it. I was thinking they should be on the blade also. Francis is right about the lineweight, but boy did he give you a bad example. hehe.. don't hate me for saying that. |

Yes... I meant something like that, but with smaller symbols... And more symbols. So they occupy about 1/4th - 1/5th of the total width of the blade. At their current size, they kinda steal too much attention from the rest of the sword. |

Go Jenn! I really like the symbols. Are they real or just made up?
Give the handle some texture or like wrapped in tape kinda look or something. For grip..

Hehe cool runes...
The swords look good, style-wise...Well done...But they look like they'd be a little heavy...even for two hands...hehe

These look nice...
You might want to keep the heavier silhouette lineweight, but vary the lineweights inside the silhouette and make them a little lighter overall. That is where you can define materials and radii in a really sensitive way and make them seem more real. |

The sword design is cool to me, I'm sure it'll serve its purpose :). I like the symbols on the last version the best! And yeah, one more thing to do is to define the materials used in the sword...

What are those little symbols in the center? They look cool. As far as the sword designs they remind me of BattleChasers and FF7. If these are going to be a main part of what it is you are developing then they need a "gimmick". Something that makes them stand out from any other sword. They look kinda generic right now. |

cool.. i like the one on the right
i dont know really what to comment on though. other then that they might be a bit heavy, but then again who cares. they look nice
yeah like chapel said. they could use some sort of gimmick type thing. Ooo i know. how bout they glow and they could come in all differnt colours.. Oh and the blade is pure energy... oh wait.. nevermind.. thats already taken

yeah, those swords look cool, but i prefer the left one, it looks more used --- maybe you can add something to handle of the right one, might look cool. also i think the blade of especially the right one looks more like a butcher knife ![](http://www.sijun.com/dhabih/ubb/smile.gif) |

These are very nice designs Jenn!
Someone mentioned that the swords looked a bit heavy. In Scotland many years back people used a type of sword called claymores. Big guys used to walk in a straight line swinging it in a figure-of-eight pattern or just in a circle to gain momentum and just walking towards the enemy.

Awesome drawings, I just realized one thing..
and one thing only....
more girls need to draw swords. The world would be a better place if more girls drew swords. I love the design of this two swords, is there a word for the shape of the blade or is the original?
Hopefully this will be the first of many girl create sword posts, cuz I love em'.
Come on girls, show us your swords.
Great job Jenn.
