Just a first attempt at graphic art.
I was hoping I could get a couple of comments on this attempt from some of you guru's out there ;P

Not bad, my suggestion sould be to vary the line weight she looks a little flat. |

That's a wonderfully well-proptortioned drawing and a sharp coloring... you didn't go over the lines :P
The next step in this illustration would be to differentiate the textures of the different things she is wearing and holding. Everything right now has a flat color and smooth gradient shading (except for that yellow blade on her thigh).
Instead of shading everything the same way.. you could give the clothing harder shadows (like in most anime) and a hand-created texture.
Backgrounds are nice too... though depending on how you work (ie if you work like me) then it may be too late to "add in" a background to this image. Some smartee-pantz artists (well deserving of this prestigious title) would advise creating the background along with the figure sketch.
Those are just some ways to make the picture even better. Again, nice figure you drew. |
