Hey guys .. i posted the concept d for the page a few days ago and this is the thing almost done .. its just a stupid class project but just wanted to make sure it works on everyones comp ..  if you could just take a look maybe drop some words that would be cool .. thanks ,, http://members.home.net/maxball/test/test1.htm
ohh and only the new artist button works right now and the forward and back ones late.. |

sorry dude, It seems your post was swallowed up. Not to worry..I shall rip it apart for ya.. just kidding..
This is just some thoughts I've recieved from other clients and other people who make websites.
If you open a new window in kiosk mode people feel traped by the website. You're forcing them to look at your website and no one elses because they can't close the window. True, the window does not blow up full screen, thank goodness, and you do have a blank page that sez enter on it in the background, but not everyone uses 1024x768 or higher to view websites. So that screen will probably take up most of thier viewing area.
You may want to think about including a disclaimer on the entry page that sez something like this "this window will spawn a new kiosk browser, if you wish to leave this site without closeing your browser completely, please press the exit button." or something like that. If people have to close thier browser completly, they are not comming back. When a new window just pops up out of no where, people automaticly assume. POPUP add, and close it before it finishes loading.
Ok..lets see how you can make this work...
Use your entry page (splash page) better. Instead of just putting enter on it, put a graphic and tell the world that by clicking "this" button you will open a new browser window.
As for the site it's self, i think it's great. It gets a little too busy but it does work. You carried out the same theme through out.
the words "can you feel it" touch the very top of the margin. Not a good thing, bring them down so they do not touch the top edge.
I'm not so sure your images match your content. It's kinda funny too see this old man and then see the words "can you feel it" and trance..hehehe
over all, aside from the popup I think you did a good job.
Hope it goes well for ya. i'm currious to hear what your instructor has to say. |

Hey thanks guys ! .. yah i posted it last night late and it just got shoved down to the bottem .. I know what your saying about the page in the window .. peeps do have a problem with that .. due to all the tripod and geocitis shit .. but i had it the other way kind of like BMW's web site but it just scrolls and looks bad .. As far as the splash screen goes im going to be maken one for it today ,, it will have the enter on it and hopfully wont be too much of a shock when they first open it .. Another thing i was kind of going by is the project it to make a record company web page and after researching a few pages of companys and bands i found that lots of them do open in a new small window.. Granted most of those are in flash but oh well eheh .. maybe ill add a close button at the bottem of the page so they can close it if they want ? you think that might fix some of them problems ?
And for the old guy well eheh .. you ever notice how some pages have things that you would never relate to the topic ? well that is what it is eheh e.. just seeing how it would flow and if i could get it to work ..
