hey guys,
here's an image i worked on 2 days ago, it's for my college (we're supposed to make illustrations of other artist's work and stuff). I tried to make it as "painterly" as possible. I forget what the original frazetta painting is called. Please tell me what u think. (btw, took about an hour to complete)

might as well add another one i had to do for the project... this one is from the artist Brom (hehe, cool name)

Pretty decent attempt. Keep up copying artists that really inspire you. I use Brom as inspiration and a teacher all the time, he's one of the best painters out there right now. My main crit would be to keep an eye on those proportions, they're getting away from you somewhat. I know the bottom pic very well and she should be more gracefully drawn. Spend more time on the paintings, especially in the earlier stages, and really study the shapes and colors of what you're looking at.

The truth shall set you free, but first it will really piss you off.

Dakkan: Very nice work. I haven't seen the originals, but personally, it looks a little lifeless as there is lack of hue differences, especially in the skin... perhaps playing with the color/tones a bit would breathe some life into it. Again, very nice!

Good stuff Drakkan. For the time you put into them, they look awesome. I'd like to see them if you put a bit more time into them ie backgrounds etc.

Thanks for the feedback guys... i've realized that i've been rushing my work too much, and should slow down and take things one step at a time.

btw, garthmidgley, it's dakkan, not drakkan, hehe.
