here is something I just finished.
It's a painting over a linedrawing. Didn't bother cleaning up the linedrawing too much.
I got told that his shoulders were too low, arms/hands too small & torso kinda small as well.
It was not intended to be a baldursgate2 portrait from the beginning, but I figured it would fit as one. (Tried todo one before, but the result was = blah!)
The knight was colored in Painter6 and the background was painted in Photoshop5. Comments are welcome.
here is the linedrawing: http://binke.gamesquad.net/temp/bee.jpg

The proportions could use a little work though. The crotch to me seems a bit high and I think the legs are to far apart. With armor around the legs that would make the space even smaller.
Overall I like the painting and I think you should continue.
Keep up the good work. |

Looks good! Aside from what's already been posted, I think the head is quite small when compared to the length of the torso. If you split the picture at the bottom of the shoulder pads, it looks like two differently sized people. Other than that, it looks great! Hell, even with that, it looks great. Just keep at it!

maybe it's just me, but does that little pink area on the sword handle and in about the same area as where his .. umm .. special parts are, does that remind anybody else of a certain scene from Something About Mary?
probably just me, it usually is

lol, ya binke. you really ought to change the color on that sword!
aside from that, it looks good. i especially like the scratchy texture on the armour.

I'm glad I'm not the only sick bastard here I like the rendering alot but as it was loading, I thought he was "feeling the breeze".

as for the head too small hm..at first it was too big, so I changed it. ok its a little bigger now.
Skeezer: I agree with your comments
will have them in mind for the next painting, thanks.
Anthony: Who is Beserk?
thanks for the comments.

nice binke. Nice colors too. Could have some more bold proportions and so on.. but, mostly what did catch my eye first was that it seem like he is about to fall down to the right. Because the weight is wrong. See it ?
But, nice work binke....

Joachim: Damn heh, I can see that now, thanks for pointing that out!
Cos: Hmm.. oooook it was not intended to look like Joachim if you think that But thanks hehe.
Haarg2: You'd be surprised how often I hear that. Btw, how much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck would chuck wood?
Damn now that I look at the pic.. it really looks messy, not my style.. bueh. *spits on it* Ah well gotta try out new stuff all the time.
