Hope this one doesnt get buried...
this started as a simple sketch I did using a mirror. Its just that Id like some feedback on this (not finished). Lightning and so on. I also think the colors are quite boring. plese answer.
Thanks |

it's a good start, nice nose, but I would consider drawing more of the face before starting to color it. First off, draw your whole face, with the skull, also the eyes, etc... I get the feeling you've had problems sketching up the eyes, and therefore dropped them out to paint them instead. , I could be wrong, but It's no point in leaving out what you find difficult, the only way to improve is to draw everything you find hard to do.
I wouldn't worry about the light and colors before you have this up.
Hope this helps

Study your face in the mirror and try to analyse the skintones. Right now it is too yellow. It's hard to critique it too, since
you only started briefly. A good thing is to
get everything in place like Joachim pointed out before starting to shade.
Good luck!

Thanks for the replies guys, I relly like your work.
I totally agree with you both. This is not the way to go. Its just that I had this scan of a sketch I did and I gave it a try although it wasnt al finished.
I did a selfportrait yesterday, following your advice, micke, (remeber you said it was an exercise we all should do more often) and have learned a lot from it.
Thanks for the replies, and excuse my bad english. |
