Do you think there is something wrong with the barrel of the gun? I think it doesn't match up with the camera as far as perspective is concerned.

I'm using a reference photo. I am changing the angle of the weapon to make him look less lax, and more professional.

i like your pic better than the photo

very good composition. i see what you mean about the gun barrel. to solve it, you might try swinging the back end of that box on top of the gun. swing it towards the soilder more so it is more foreshortened, i think that'll help the perspective. but then again, im just eyeballing it, and might be wrong

good work so far.

Anoah: the barrel just needs to be pushed down a bit to make it fit in the line of perspective. Making it a little larger and pushing it some 2 pixels left might also help.

Cool pic! What I want to know is what this is for. This is obviously a U.S Special Forces pic. But what the heck is he doing? What is the contraption on the ar15, and the "eyepatch"?

Where did you get the pic from?

Just curious is all.

I'm doing this just for myself. I'm a highschool student, and I love to paint, so I'm figuring that a few more paintings and I'll have a nice little portfolio to send to college along with my resume

If you look at the reference pic I'm using (scroll up to the first msg), it becomes pretty obvious. This is a trooper trying out the fiberoptic camera sight. All this entails is having a little contraption on your eye, and a camera on the gun. Since you see out of the camera, you don't need to align your face with the sight. This makes aiming easier, because you see where the gun points. Heck, you could snipe someone behind your back if you wanter
