Here's a package-cover me and micke did for some game called Gunman. I believe sierra is releasing it, but under some Valve restrictions (is that right dhabih ?).don't know much about the game, sorry....anyway, it had a very tight deadline, and we had to base the whole composition from an earlier cover someone did, which wasn't good enough. So, we didn't have full freedom on the motif.
Sadly, they changed the background back to the original one, but this one has the one we did, which we personally prefer.

Joachim & micke

He looks psychotic. Tell me, though - that small ridge that runs up the middle of his cap... how high is it, exactly? It seems to be casting a pretty big shadow.

Very nice. I like the texture on the gun a lot and the background is cool too. I think his teeth are too small tho.

Are the eyes visible on the actual cover? That would concern me more than the changed bg.

Gunman was originally started as a tc for Quake a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, and then they changed to Q2, and then to H-L, and a few months ago they decided to make it a stand-alone game using the H-L engine.
[thanks code_404 for pointing me the errors]

Nice painting btw.

Very nice Joachim and Micke!

The image is very eyecathing and the color values are really nice. Under the circumstances with the tight deadline and all, I think you did a great job. I noticed the small things others have mentioned already, but that's just minor things and it doesn't ruin the overall nice feel of the painting. One can always find little things here and there (it's the easiest thing in the world to be a critic), but I wouldn't care too much about that. Real shame they changed the background though, yours is a lot better.. All in all, a really great piece!

(Et lite spm. dog: Fr dere ikke pes fra Innerloop ved lage stuff for andre spillfirmaer? ;-) Eller bestemmer dere helt selv kanskje?.. bare nysjerrig, hehe)

Well you know I think this is great, I love it! It has those damn goggles, I can't NOT love it, great job guys!

(didnt read above, so I might be repeating)
One minor thing though, his teeth look really really small. Also, I think I prefered the version where he wasn't gnashing his teeth a bit better; not for technique, but for the fact he wasn't showing his teeth. It's just in such a way that it looks like he's neither smiling, nor growling. You might want to consider that Elvis/Stallone "one side of the mouth higher" thing.

But anyway, its minor I love this pic, and it makes a great gaming package, too bad my computer sucks too bad to play any new games :) Good work again guys

yeah..funky...
just one thing..what the HECK is a Mad Max character doing there??? *s*
The flyng dude in the background is a deadringer for that flaky helicopter flying sidekick for Mel Gibson in one of the Mad Max movies...

Peace!!

..er det noe fest snart eller..???

Not much to say but it looks psychotically nice - as Affected said. I especially like the clouds on it. Cool! Sorry, I've so little time to give feedback... gotta go! Bye

Hi Guys,

the picture is a real eyecatcher, I like the colors, values and overall feeling in it.
surely I would have picked up the box on the shelf and had a look at the back, wondering how nice or bad the screenshots are.

Great work!

cheers

Wow, great work Micke and Joachim!!

This would really catch my eye on the shelf of a local game store.
I have heard some about the game.

How did you guys get the job of doing the cover?
Congrats on a job well done.

Great job guys! Really love how you carved out the facial planes! Teeth seem a bit small, but it just adds to the charm!

"ME AND MICKE" - sounds like a movie title.

Hehe. When I first saw the cover pic a couple days ago, I was thinking to myself "That looks like the style of someone from the dhabih forums....who is it now?"

Great job you two, very spectacular.
