Hmm,
I don't know what to say. I don't think that image modification can be considered art, and it looks as if though you might have just recombined a bunch of images. There is such a thing as realism, or matte paintings. If you want a load of those, check out GoodBrushHe is the man. If you actually painted all of that, then I suppose it is art.

I've been concentrating on 3D game and application textures. Game textures are easy...its the sketching and painting parts I find to be perplexing. |

Well... if you have a wacom pad use that, if you don't use something else (resort to real media if you have to).
Take a reference photo, and work on it. Lay in the basic shapes, add in the light sources, start putting in details... etc.
