I like it, the caption's intent escapes me, but the beetle rules!

What school do you go to, man? I don't see a whole lot of Washingtonians on the boards besides Dhabih.

I'm still in high school, my last year...going to go to a technical college or something...and about the caption, it' basically implying that the beatle used to be a man and durng that time enjoyed eating winsington brand crumpets!...i had to fill the space somehow...

washingtonians rule! californians are way too cheery...hehehehe

Yes Lethargic Boy, and our apples rule the fruit kingdom!
...or something like that.

I graduated '99 and just started looking for colleges around here with good art programs.
Dhabih went to UW, which might be a cool place to go.

yea, all these little art colleges are coming to my school trying to get people to join, it's downright confusing at times...do they want students, or do they want cold hard cash?

With some of these schools, there's no difference. I want to go somewhere that I can REALLY learn.

nightmare: Heheheh, yes, that was my goal for this pic, the reference had all these highlights and reflections, i think i did a good job on the thorax, the legs are a bit inconsistent and the head is a little weird. probably the most difficult photo i've drawn to date.

rob: yes, i totally agree, somewhere that ppl are serious about art and it's basic principles, not all caught up in the stylistic part of it...

The beetle looks really good. I'm guessing that when you scanned it in you lost some of the lighter shading as the image does appears to have very dark tones or white. Something inbetween would be less 'harsh' but maybe that was the effect that you where going for.

Exactly!

when i scanned it at school and transfered it to my computer i had to jpeg it, the grey values got slaughtered, so i messed with the levels and i liked the high contrasty version better!
