Teacher in Belgium wouldnt let us do chi sao until after 4th grade or something which is at least 1 year.

It's pretty much automatic with the Brush tool in Illustrator (assuming you have a tablet). Double click the Brush tool icon to set line fidelity so your lines dont get too much smoothed out.
