I'd lose some of the highlight flares on second one, and make the sails darker and more detailed (wrinkles and stuff Wink). And of course more than sketchy characters Wink

Second one looks better than first. Coloring on first look airbrushy/smudgy... maybe try hard brushes and bit less saturated colors Twisted Evil

I like the idea. I'd suggest 90 - 120 minutes time constraint for each painting, (like DSG, but you can paint anytime you want). Week is quite much time, and finishing, polishing, tweaking is tempting ...
