I like it. As someone else said, pirate ships are nothing new, but if its done in an evocative way, who cares? The colors are nice but I almost wish for even a bit more saturation overall, IMVHO.

Seems like good practice to me. It might be more interesting to try to capture the lines more accurately than to attempt detailed shading if you're going that fast. Just a thought.
