Cool picture, I think the shadows are a little too dark and a little edge smoothing would help aswell.. maybe you could add some grain; for instance compare the wheels of the two planes.

buy an intuos, at least A6, but if you're swimmin in ya money buy an A5. I've got an A5 and it's perfect for what I want with it...
if the sizes you're talking about are inches, then 6x8=A5 and 4x5=A6
